Surf Fishing - Jack Fish

It is almost 2 month I did not posted any report to this blog, this is due to the worked load but today went I went out to the shore for only an hour I manage to catch this beautiful Jack fish or also know as EBEK to the local fisherman.

Coffee Shop Story

It is started went we were having a coffee at the coffee shop, then Bro Mat raise up the topic on our exsperience fishing at the "Pengkalan Gelap" about a year ago, it end up that we contacted our geng member's and heading to our favourate barramundy port which is about an hour from our place

14 Kg Ray

After a week I been trying to Surf along the beach of Teluk Ketapang till Pagar Besi of Batu Rakit but nothing promising until on the 2nd of March 2010, I got a good nibble of unseen creature that I suspected a Sting Ray, I manage to fight for almost 10 minutes but at the end I loss it, my fishing hooked were bend strait like were twisted with a pliers, Not satisfied with what happen on that day, I decided to invite Bro Lokman, Bro Mat & Bro Ariffin to joint me, After an hours at the Ketapang beach or to be more specific the beach call "Sarang Laba" Bro Lokman manage to bring up a 14 Kg Ray after almost 30 minutes of a good fight.

How to Hooked life shrimp or prawn bait

There is so many anglers or blogger in any forum are asking on the best way to hooked a prawn or shrimp with out loosing it when cast, especially if we do a surf fishing. I attached here a simple step by step picture that I feel the best way and it really work on me and hope to share it with you guys out there.

1. Start from the bottom end of the tail.
2&3. Twist the hook and hooked it back from the top of the shrimp
4. There is it..ready to cast
Note : the picture shown is a small shrimp for Gelama fish and it is also can be hooked to a
big prawn's for a bigger games.

New Year Eve & January Catch

I don't have a change to post my report in the month of January and look like going to miss the February report as well, Today I will compile all the picture into one of my January fishing outing. It is not a good catch but anyway I'm happy for a the most valuable time I have with friends and family fishing together.

Back to Nature - Kuala Berang

My Son Daniel so excited to cast too..

Since last month I don't have a any story to post a new thread on this blog, it is also due to my frustrations on my trip to Lake Kenyir recently & and also because of that I can't surf on the beach due to bad weather, but any way, on the December12, 2009 I received the SMS from Jay and telling me that one of our team member from Kuala Berang (En.Mat) have caught a 4kg Hampala (Sebarau) at our favorite spot and quickly we arrange a trip for a follow up at the same spot to cast.

After we was casting for an hour En.Mat came and joint us to try again for an afternoon cast and according to him there is a few time he lose the strike of the good strong fight from this creature and after 3 hours we were there, then we decided to walk off and will come back next weekend, I manage to upload few picture of the Hampala that he caught earlier in the morning.

Now will you believe it
